Nathan's Second Chance

And You Thought It'd Never Get Finished

Downloads Ahoy!

Here is the download link for Nathan's Second Chance. This is version 1.0.3, which includes some important bug fixes. You can install it over the top of version 1.0.0 or 1.0.1, but be aware that you'll lose your saved games.

Hopefully, you won't have much trouble downloading or installing it. Depending on what browser you're using, you should just be able to click on the filename above, choose 'Save' and then run it from wherever you chose to save it.

For those who already installed version 1.00 or 1.01, you can use the much smaller updater utility below. It will update your installed copy of the game to version 1.03. This is an improved version of the earlier updater, which wasn't very smart. Again, be aware that you'll lose any saved games.

There is also a zip file, in case you can't download executables where you are. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you'll be wanting to use the installer above and not this one.

What You'll Need to Run It

The game doesn't need the best, most amazing computer, but it's not going to run on your grandma's PC from 1987, either. Basically, you'll need a computer that was made this side of the century, probably in the last four or five years. If it runs Windows XP, it'll probably be okay. I've got more technical details, but don't worry if these mean nothing to you:

Linux users: The game runs under WINE, but I've not been able to get the audio to work. (If you do, please contact me and let me know what you did!) Note that you'll probably have more success with the zip file than the installer.

Mac users: If you have one of the new Intel Macs, then you may be able to use Apple's BootCamp software to boot into Windows and run the game. It's also possible that the Darwine project will enable the game to run directly under OS X at some stage in the future. PowerPC users: sorry, SLUDGE is an Intel-only game engine. I'll use a more open toolkit for my next game!
